meals on wheels is a household name
This important service provides nutritionally balanced meals to the aged, people with a disability (and their carers) who have difficulty preparing and cooking meals for themselves.
Volunteer deliverers help clients to maintain their independence and to remain living in their own home. Special diets are catered for, including diabetic, gluten free, diary free and vegetarian. The North Shoalhaven Meals Co-operative is the umbrella organisation of Berry, Culburra Beach, Currarong, Huskisson/Vincentia, Jervis Bay, Nowra/Bomaderry and Shoalhaven Heads Services. |
Meals provided follow guidelines provided by the N.S.W. Meals on Wheels Association to ensure nutritional balance and suitability.
The NSW Food Authority requires all Services to comply with the 'Guidelines for Food Service to Vulnerable Persons.' Services that cook or reheat meals are audited annually by the Food Authority to ensure compliance with these guidelines. These can be read on www.foodauthority.nsw.gov.au The Cooperative is a member of the New South Wales Meals on Wheels Association — www.nswmealsonwheels.org.au |
